The short version: use Task Quest responsibly, don't abuse the AI, and remember that XP isn't real currency.
📜Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Task Quest, you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part, please don't use the service.
👤Account Rules
You must provide a valid email address to sign up. One account per person. You're responsible for keeping your password secure. Accounts must not be shared or transferred. You must be at least 13 years old to use Task Quest.
✅Acceptable Use
Use Task Quest for its intended purpose: managing your tasks, projects, and goals. Don't abuse the AI planner with excessive requests, attempt to bypass rate limits, or use the service to generate harmful or illegal content. Don't attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the service's operation.
🤖AI Features
The Quest Planner uses Google Gemini AI to generate task suggestions and plans. AI-generated content is provided as-is — it's a planning aid, not professional advice. Plans may contain inaccuracies or impractical suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing and deciding what to act on. AI conversations are processed by Google's API subject to their terms of service.
⭐XP & Gamification
Experience points (XP), levels, streaks, and leaderboard rankings are virtual game mechanics for motivation purposes only. They have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed, traded, or transferred. We may adjust XP values, level thresholds, or gamification mechanics at any time.
🔑Your API Keys
If you provide your own Gemini API key for unlimited AI access, you are responsible for any charges Google may apply to that key. Task Quest stores your key encrypted and only uses it to make AI requests on your behalf. We are not responsible for any costs incurred through your API key usage.
🔒Data & Privacy
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. In short: we store what's needed to run the app, we don't sell your data, and you can request deletion at any time.
🌐Service Availability
Task Quest is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running but make no guarantees of uptime or availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We'll try to give notice for major changes, but can't always promise it.
🚪Termination
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or remain inactive for an extended period. On termination, your data will be deleted.
⚖️Limitation of Liability
Task Quest is a free personal project. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost data, missed deadlines, or reliance on AI-generated plans.
📝Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Task Quest after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
